- First, it should be mentioned I harbor tremendous animosity towards hipsters. Don't worry, though, so long as you don't smell, have Morrissey's big stupid head tattooed on your body some place and/or wreak of incompetency, there's a really good chance we'll get along.
As far as this whole martial arts thing... I began training BJJ nearly 5 years ago at what is now Gracie NEPA (Royce affiliate) in Scranton with Jeff Reese and Mark and Steve Brunetti. Training was limited due to my need to maintain a full-time job while attending school full time. Since moving to Philly, I've been training with Rick and Phil Migliarese and the Balance family for over 2 years, having made BJJ and fitness major priorities in my life.
Over the past 5 years, I've dedicated a lot of time to studying nutrition and exercise science. When I get some more free time, I fully intend on completing my ACE certification and helping others to work toward bettering their fitness and health as I have.
5 years and 50lbs ago I would have never imagined I'd be working at a world class Jiu-Jitsu academy with some of my best friends helping others realize their goals.
