Sendy fought the day before thanksgiving, he gave me some guilt about not going to is fight. I had already planned a trip to the keys with my family when he told the date of his fight. i would have loved to go, I knew he would do well.
He is a fighter, and I know one when I train with one. Some people want to be fighters and some naturally are fighters.
Its something you cannot learn, it is part of you, a trait you are given, I felt it in Sendy the first time we had a match.

My pal Glenn wnet back to Las Vegas and took a MMA fight on a days notice, good and bad.
Good if he did well, bad IF he did not.
I am happy to report he won a 3 round decision, used alot of BJJ in the fight too.

I had the a chance to meet pablo Popovitch this weekend, First time was in AC at ROC fights, I picked he out of the crowd, introduced myself, and had a pretty amazing talk. I began by asking him "
are you Pablo Popovitch The regining and defending Adcc World Champion" the response was classic, he smiled a mile wide and said 'yes" and asked my name, we talked some.

Tomorrow is ROC and we all get to go to AC and watch two of the guys we train with fight it out. Both guys are going up against really skilled opponents, winning will be tough.
For me, its easy I just go and sit down, watch it all unfold. I think my entourage will be a good one kali, Glenn, Vince and hopely Coaches Mike and Greg will drive down with us too. I am looking forward to it.

I am sure tonight i m gonna be toast at class. My morning BJJ was at an all time high, I had good success with many and twice caught A guy that is one of the best purples I know. I wish I knew what caused me to improve, this felt like a growth "spert" for sure. The chain attaks that i have been putting so much pratice into are really working well.

Nova Uniao Jiu Jitsu shines at the WEC!!
Nova Uniao Black Belt Jose Aldo defeats Featherweight champion Mike Brown for the belt, showing tremendous striking, outstanding takedown defense and speed. It was great fight, back and forth and while Mike Brown showed he had a great chin, Jose's speed eventually overwhelmed the champ for an upset win.
Congratulations to Jose Aldo for this significant win by TKO in the 2nd round!

Thursday night marks my 161th class at Bill's school, time is flying by. My situation at the new school is as good as one could hope for.
I am going to The keys saturday afternoon, I will not training for about a week, I could use sometime away from the mat.

I came home from practice feeling humble. I watched jay nase, Bill Scott and Nick Catone coach the kids wrestling class. these three guys are amongest the best grapplers NJ has ever "produced" and now they are "breeding" a new crop of grapplers, its a pleasure to watch.

I woke up this morning and my right knee is banged up, I wonder if going to train is a good idea or not, I decide to go and train "smart". I go to get glenn and he is limping, says he twisted his ankle while putting his pants on, which made me laugh. I woke this morning knowing what was in store for me at class.
WHENEVER I feel like crap, Prof will make us fight from the feet for the 90 minutes and YOU guessed it today is no different.Glenn was under the weather as well. we both thought we might "loaf" thru a sunday class, it was not to be.
My first match is Jimmy, he fast and technical, I pull x guard and Screw it up, for the 12th time this week, from there I just reserve energy and keep him in my open guard.

Not a lot to say, other than for once I agree with the judging. Coture looked good and the Hardy-Swick fight was fantastic.
The knockouts from the prelims were something else, although the Gustafsson fight should have been stopped the moment that Hamman's mouthpiece flew off (he was already lights out).
Parting shot: I can't wait for the GSP-Hardy fight on Feb 6 at UFC 109.

Glenn picks me up and we go to class. The room is packed, Glenn mentions that there are 7 brown belts in the room, he is so happy.
I am the first to be paired up, Prof says "Chris you get the Madama guy" I look over and I see Steve in a Madama BJJ Gi.
