I tapped Glenn "once",
using a secret shoulder lock, that can only be applied from side control-from the bottom, IT hurts, just ask Glenn! LOL!
I got a few cool Naga medals and a sword, but not as fun as hearing glenn say "tap"!!

2 hrs in a doctors office

After morning class i stopped the walk in clinic, I felt like crap , It was time.
I waited for over 2 hrs, it would have sucked but i sat next a woman I knew, her son did Judo at the same school i did.
We did alot of catching up, and it made me think of all the people we know but dont get to see regularly.

I ended up going to the night class, I felt weak and crummy. We go live early in the class, and I am thinking I am gonna get beat down. my first match was Greg, the mma fighter, he did pretty… Continue

This is great!!

I trained this morning, my bjj was stellar, my body was not, i have been suffering a clogged sinus for the last two weeks, I was so gassed today it was the worst i have felt in a long time.
But BJJ saved the day, I may have been weak but my technic allowed me to prevail.
The only guy whom I could have done better with was Prof Dan, was passing his guard and had an openning but was too slow and missed an easy pass, I redemed myself when i used a flying trianlge on him, prof Bill screamed when he… Continue

I got pretty lucky the other day, got to borrow Saulo's dvd BJJ revoluton 1, it came at the perfect time as well, about 3 hrs before I was to get on a plane to Florida, 2 hrs with nothing to do!
What is funny is that all the way to the airport I am dying to start watching this dvd, i love Saulo.
And when I am on the plane, Pablo Popovitch is sitting right next to me, so now what do I do?
Talk BJJ with the Adcc champ or watch the dvd???
After a talking with Pablo for sometime, my wife tell… Continue

Sendy's Fight

Sendy fought the day before thanksgiving, he gave me some guilt about not going to is fight. I had already planned a trip to the keys with my family when he told the date of his fight. i would have loved to go, I knew he would do well.
He is a fighter, and I know one when I train with one. Some people want to be fighters and some naturally are fighters.
Its something you cannot learn, it is part of you, a trait you are given, I felt it in Sendy the first time we had a match.
Plenty of people are… Continue

It was amazing. We have some world class people that come through. Johnny, our head instructor, is an amazing teacher as well. It was pretty cool to see him get promoted by Carlos to a 3rd degree as well.

Hey bro! That seminar was fantastic! Carlos went over a new bjj phylosophy that he has been working with and it is pretty incredible. The main thing he was saying was in regards to defending against a guard pass and pulling rather than pushing. By pulling in close hands, arms, legs, you make your opponent create space for you while tring to pass. I'm sure I didn't explain this very well, but its a very exciting change to my game.

thanks chris-i learn from everybody in our school white to black belt-i once talked with a student about a purple who taught class one day-this guy critized how he taught-i reminded him that everyone is not the same and teach-learn-roll in their own way-you have to be open to learn-ego is a hinderance-tony rivera i describe as explosive or dynamic-mike gibbons as technical-my brother in law jim as instinctual-and shaun as flat out brave-he is my hero-my feeling is you will be a hell of a teacher-tap you later james

Thanks for checking out the site. I can use all the help I can get. I'm trying to pay the bills with our Martial Arts endeavors and every hit counts.

Man, I need to get over to the East cost and do some training. I wonder if there's different stuff going on over in that neck of the woods. Best of luck in your training man. Training as often as you do, I'm sure luck has nothing to do with it.

Happy hunting,
b.
